Job Description

 

 

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

Financial Outcomes

  • Perform the accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Oversee daily operations including invoice verification, coding, approvals, and payment runs.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and resolve payment-related queries and discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and improve AP metrics such as aging reports, payment cycles, and error rates.

Customer Service

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, and other departments to streamline processes.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Internal Processes

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives within the AP function.

Innovation and Learning

  • Experience in a shared services or global finance environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic invoicing and payment platforms.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations related to vendor payments (e.g., TDS, GST in India).
  • Lean Six Sigma or process improvement certification is a plus.

 

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • 4 + years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial tools.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
