The role involves managing sourcing and packing of the traded salt across multiple 3P/2P Units. Maintain the daily operational activities (planning, production and dispatch), controls on SAP in the Units.

Primary Stakeholders (Optional):  Quality Assurance, Logistics, Manufacturing, Planning, Payment processing team, External vendors and 3P/2P Units, R&D, Finance.

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

  • Performance assessment and communication for the handled manufacturing plants and supplier locations.
  • Coordinating production plants and dispatch scheduling as per sales requirement and vendor performance evaluation.
  • Active participation to improve efficiency and cost reduction and daily reporting of unit’s performance.
  • Ensuring regulatory and quality compliance at the units in conjunction with quality and regulatory teams
  • RM planning for the products as per the sales/ production demand.
  • Ensuring SAP transactions as per material movement and audit and statutory compliances.
  • Scheduling production and deliveries of RMs across the plants to meet the sales/production requirement.
  • Dispatching – On Time, In Full (Ensuring compliance to SAP system invoicing requirements).
  • Regular/Need based Field visits to monitor the performance of salt units and salt works.
  • Share market intelligence on prices movements and production statistics
  • Keep track of rake movements for Salts
  • Ensure adherence to audit requirements and resolving critical observations.
  • Development of vendors, Salt growing geographies and Suppliers’ capabilities
  • Co-ordination with the payment processing team for the timely issue of payments to the vendors
  • Ensure timely dispatch of materials from vendors as per their commitment
  • Active participation in cross functional team for process improvements, Cost efficiency improvements and NPDs (New Product Developments) 
  • Continuous scanning of the Trades salts markets to identify opportunities to explore new sources, onboarding of new associates.
  • Deploying Internal Digital tools/Systems and ensuring Vendor participation/ education. 

 

 

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

  • Postgraduate/Graduate in Food Technology/Science (chemistry)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in salt Industry – Salt Manufacturing and Packing

 

What are the Desirable success factors for the Role?

  • Experience working in Food and salt industry.
  • Good communication skills (specifically English). Should be fluent in Gujarati and Hindi.
  • Computer proficiency (MS office, SAP, Google drive)
  • Knowledge of food safety aspect
