What are the Key Deliverables in this role ?

 

Financial Outcomes

  • Support safe and uninterrupted operations across assigned sites by ensuring adherence to Health & Safety practices.
  • Minimize H&S-related incidents, accidents, and non-compliance that could lead to business disruption or financial exposure.
  • Assist in controlling H&S-related costs by ensuring timely closure of corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Support effective utilization of allocated H&S budgets for site-level initiatives and activities.

Customer Service

 

  • Drive awareness and adoption of a positive Health & Safety culture among employees, contract workers, and site visitors.
  • Act as a site-level H&S partner for location SPOCs, admin teams, factory/warehouse leadership, and functional managers.
  • Support the implementation of H&S policies and initiatives in line with business and operational needs of the site.
  • Conduct H&S trainings, safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for all relevant employee categories.

Internal Processes

  • Execute site-level Health & Safety programs in alignment with cluster and corporate H&S strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with: TCPL H&S policies and standards; Statutory and regulatory H&S requirements
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and safety committee meetings at assigned locations.
  • Track, monitor, and ensure closure of corrective and preventive actions arising from:
  • Risk assessments; Safety audits; Incident investigations
  • Support incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis, and prepare related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate H&S records, reports, dashboards, and MIS for review by Senior Manager / H&S Head.
  • Execute assigned H&S projects and initiatives within defined timelines and scope.

Innovation and Learning

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen health & safety practices.
  • Support training programs, toolbox talks, and safety inductions for employees and contractors.
  • Stay updated on new health & safety regulations, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Contribute ideas to improve safety awareness, reporting mechanisms, and preventive controls.

 

 

What are the Critical success factors for the Role ?

 

  • BE / BTech (Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical) with Diploma/Masters in Industrial Safety from a recognized institution
    OR
  • BE / BTech in Safety Engineering or any other equivalent qualification.
  • 6–8 years of relevant Health & Safety experience, preferably in an FMCG / Manufacturing / Process industry.
  • Hands-on exposure to site-level safety operations, statutory compliance, and audits.

 

 

What are the Desirable success factors for the Role?

  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards; Internal Auditor certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and drive corrective actions.
  • Effective stakeholder management and people negotiation skills at shop-floor and management levels.
  • Good awareness of statutory and regulatory requirements related to occupational health & safety.
  • Computer proficiency, including documentation, reporting, and basic data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems for safety-related data and reporting.
