The Assistant Manager – Engineering is responsible for delivering engineering projects across multiple categories by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The role also drives initiatives related to energy intensity improvement, AMCs, Continuous Improvement, and Sustainability.

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

Financial Outcomes

• Timely delivery of assigned Engineering projects.
• Optimize costs through AMC contract review and recommendations.
• Drive Energy intensity performance by leveraging Energy Management system.

Customer Service

• Prioritize CAPEX execution aligning the Category priorities.
• Deliver Engineering support for NPD and renovation initiatives.
• Provide support to plant operations on critical asset reliability challenges.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives on Performance, Safety, and Quality enhancement.

Internal Processes

• Conduct Technical feasibility studies and develop comprehensive project plans.
• Establish accurate cost estimates and execution timelines.
• Design efficient layouts aligned with Lean principles and Food safety standards.
• Develop detailed specifications, evaluate proposals, coordinate vendor selection, and

define performance criteria.

• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards.
• Monitor and report on Capex progress and spending forecasts
• Coordinate with Plant Operations, Finance, Procurement, Safety and Quality teams.
• Closely track the open Capex items until capitalization.

Innovation and Learning

• Adopt and implement new technology, Automation and IOT 4.0 opportunities.
• Transition to Renewable energy sources and implement energy conservation measures.
• Apply Lean Six sigma methodologies to enhance productivity.

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

• B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in Engineering Projects and Maintenance within Food, Beverage or CPG organizations.
• Hands-on experience in Greenfield and Brownfield expansions, covering Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Instrumentation preferably within the Food and Beverage industry.
• Proficiency in computer applications - AUTOCAD, MS Project, CAMS and SAP.

What are the Desirable success factors for the Role?

• Knowledge of Process Equipment’s, Electrical system, Utilities and Energy Management.
• Good in Negotiation, Vendor management and Project execution.
• Proven experience in Project management and Lean methodologies.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
