The job aims to bring business value by owning & improving forecast accuracy to provide best possible visibility for Supply chain operations to help optimized cost & service to our customers.

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

Financial Outcomes

  • Revenue Growth: Achieve and exceed annual revenue targets through effective demand forecasting & Supply planning, leading to optimized inventory management, cost control & Availability
  • Cost Reduction: Enable cost-saving measures in supply chain operations through accurate demand forecasting & effective inventory management, which results in reduced inventory carrying costs and operational efficiency.
  • Profitability Enhancement: Perform SKU segmentation & support SKU rationalization activity to reduce complexity. Operate on set inventory norms and work on optimization for improved working capital performance. Reduction in expiry to improve profitability of the organization.

Customer Service

  • Promos & NPD forecast management, provide visibility of forecast to supply chain at child SKU level.  Timely delivery.
  • Timely completion of forecasting and monthly demand planning activities
  • Drive customer service metrics -Improve OTIF & fill rates and review open order positions.
  • Order Fulfillment: Ensure good forecast accuracy & stock availability consistently meeting or exceeding on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery metrics resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with sales, marketing, and distribution team to capture voice of customer.

Internal Processes

  • Demand Forecasting Accuracy: Enhance demand forecasting accuracy to minimize forecasting errors and reduce the need for last-minute production changes.
  • Process Efficiency: Streamline demand planning processes to increase efficiency and reduce lead times, resulting in faster response to market changes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration between departments, such as sales, marketing, and production, to align demand forecasts and improve communication.
  • Data Quality: Ensure data integrity and reliability by maintaining high standards of data accuracy and consistency in demand-related information.
  • Responsible for Production Planning, Multi-modal Dispatch Planning & Material planning
  • Develop factory-wise production plans & dispatch plans to meet desired stock availability levels
  • Track plan achievement for factories & devise mitigation plans for short term supply issues
  • Assess constraints on supply such as short-term capacity issues, packaging material and raw material & plan actions with cross function teams
  • Support on strategic projects: Inventory Optimization, network study & long-term supply planning
  • To look for Digitization opportunities towards continuous improvements

Innovation and Learning

  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and updating demand forecasting methodologies and tools,  Conduct root cause analysis for deviations
  • Training and Development: Maximise training and development opportunities to enhance skills, keeping updated on the latest industry trends and tools.
  • Incorporating Market Insights: Integrate market intelligence and customer feedback into demand forecasting models to adapt to evolving market conditions.
  • Technology Adoption: Explore and adopt innovative demand planning technologies and data analytics tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop supply contingency plans to meet supply/demand variabilities
  • Business management & Leadership skills: Develop strong business acumen and demonstrate leadership skills
  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and updating ways of working, methodologies and tools, Conduct root cause analysis for deviations

What are the Desirable success factors for the Role?

  • Knowledge of demand forecasting tools (SAP APO DP module or JDA/BY demand suite)
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment and manage changes
  • Ability to work well in cross functional teams & effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Master's degree (preferably an MBA)
  • 3-5 years of experience in Planning for an FMCG company
