Job Description

 

 

What are the Key Deliverables in this role ?

Financial Outcomes

  • Lead and manage a team of master data experts (including internal staff and external vendors)—to deliver on the strategic objectives of the Global MDM and ensure high‑quality operational execution.
  • Design, enhance, and maintain master data structures and hierarchies, ensuring they support evolving business needs. Drive continuous process improvements across end‑to‑end MDM operations.
  • Coordinate data integration and synchronization activities across multiple business processes, applications, and enterprise systems to ensure consistency, alignment, and seamless data flow.
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and retirement of master data records, ensuring full lifecycle documentation, adherence to governance standards, and compliance with global data management policies.
  • Ensure effective implementation of master and reference data practices within the MDM platform, including rule configuration, workflow optimization, and alignment with enterprise governance frameworks.
  • Review and refine data quality rules across all core master data domains, implement enrichment logic and automated business rules to continuously improve data health, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain master data dashboards that capture key performance indicators (KPIs) and key quality indicators (KQIs), enabling transparent monitoring of operational efficiency, data quality, and team performance.
  • Ensure continuous compliance readiness by maintaining robust controls, documentation, and audit‑ready processes across all master data operations and governance workflows.

Customer Service

  • Support business units by enabling the master data records with first time right (FTR) and transactional readiness data management. Share the master data template forms with clear guidelines by having the inbuilt validations with clear demarcation of mandatory and non-mandatory fields for smooth transactions and compliance.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of master data attributes, hierarchies, dependencies, and cross-functional impacts. Being the SPOC for the master data deliverables handle the issues related master data attributes and resolve the issues on time in full.
  • Document the new procedures with clear RACI, communicate with all the key stakeholders. Which helps to increased visibility on master data operations and to avoid the repetition of process errors.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders to continuously enhance service delivery and process efficiencies in Master Data objects.

Internal Processes

  • Drive process standardization and automation, resulting in improved efficiency and reduced manual errors.
  • Support smooth transition of the new data sets from legacy to S/4Hana and support all the data migration projects being the mergers and new acquisitions.
  • Facilitate clear documentation and knowledge sharing within the team to enable effective master data management with increased data quality.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing workflows and implementing best practices.
  • Achieve consistent compliance with internal policies, controls, and audit requirements across all process activities.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to identify and implement innovative solutions for process efficiency.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team, ensuring lessons learned and new skills are disseminated effectively.

 

 

 

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in finance, Science, Engineering, &/ Technology
  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience in supply chain and master data management
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
    • SAP MDG or Equivalent system/tools
    • SAP S/4HANA
    • Global ERP/MDM systems like MDG-M, Ariba SLP, Sales force
    • Share point tools and data workflows
  • Strong understanding of Material, Customer, Vendor Masters and General Ledger data objects.
  • Willingness to work as per customer timelines- Global
  • Experience in SSC/ KPO/GCC

What are the Desirable success factors for the Role?

  • End to end Master Data Process Knowledge on core masters of Customer, Vendor, Material Master, BOM, Routing, Recipe , Routing and Production version (including Price upload).
  • Good SAP knowledge, Big Data management, Presentations and Excel skills
  • Good communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • Teamwork and enhance process controls.
