This role be responsible for managing and optimizing the operational processes for modern trade channels. This role requires strong coordination with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of sales, supply chain, and merchandising strategies.

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

 

E-commerce Operations & Fulfillment:

  • Oversee end-to-end order processing, from placement to last-mile delivery, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage 3PL logistics, warehouse operations, and dark stores for rapid order fulfillment.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs for delivery timelines, returns, and refunds across all e-commerce platforms.

Inventory & Supply Chain Management

  • Develop and execute inventory planning strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Optimize demand forecasting and inventory replenishment based on sales data and seasonal trends.
  • Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, and distribution teams to align supply with demand.

Marketplace & D2C Operations:

  • Manage operations for leading e-commerce marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, BigBasket, Blinkit, Zepto, etc.) and D2C channels.
  • Ensure compliance with marketplace policies, pricing strategies, and operational guidelines.
  • Drive operational efficiency for quick commerce platforms to meet ultra-fast delivery requirements.

Customer Experience & Order Management:

  • Monitor and improve post-purchase customer experience, ensuring timely order fulfillment and hassle-free returns.
  • Reduce order cancellations, delivery failures, and return rates through data-driven insights.
  • Enhance customer support processes in collaboration with CRM and customer service teams

Technology & Process Optimization:

  • Work with tech teams to implement e-commerce backend optimizations.
  • Identify and implement automation tools for order management, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Use analytics and dashboards to track key KPIs like fulfillment rate, OTIF (On-Time In-Full), and return percentage

Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a team of e-commerce operations managers, warehouse staff, and logistics partners.
  • Collaborate with marketing, finance, and IT teams to drive e-commerce growth and profitability.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

 

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

 

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in e-commerce operations, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in FMCG.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale e-commerce operations, including quick commerce.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management, demand planning, and logistics optimization.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

What are the Desirable success factors for the Role ?

  • Experience handling operations for FMCG brands on quick commerce platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart.
  • Strong knowledge of e-commerce regulations, compliance, and taxation in FMCG.
