What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

Financial Outcomes

  • Own supply planning outcomes that enable achievement and over-delivery of revenue targets across food categories.
  • Ensure industry-leading OTIF, case fill, and shelf availability, especially for priority channels, key customers, and strategic brands.
  • Provide proactive supply inputs to commercial plans (AOP/IBP) to support growth ambitions
  • Drive inventory optimization across RM, WIP, and FG, balancing service, freshness, and cost.
  • Lead reduction of SLOB, expiry, write-offs, and distress sales through robust planning and ageing controls.
  • Improve working capital productivity (Inventory Days) in line with global FMCG benchmarks.
  • Translate supply planning levers (network design, frequency optimization, MOQ rationalization, capacity trade-offs) into sustainable margin improvement.
  • Partner Finance to quantify and track planning-led P&L impact.

Customer Service

  • Order Fulfillment: Ensure consistent stock availability to meet OTIF & Case Fill metrics performance
  • Own enterprise-level customer service KPIs (OTIF, Case Fill, Order Reliability).
  • Drive systematic review of open orders, allocation logic, and service recovery mechanisms.
  • Ensure differentiated service models for key accounts, channels, and strategic SKUs.
  • Provide strategic oversight on Promo & NPD supply readiness, ensuring flawless launches and peak-period execution.
  • Represent Supply Planning as the senior SPOC in cross-functional forums (CFTs) for NPDs, relaunches, and big-bet promotions.
  • Institutionalize post-event reviews to improve forecast accuracy and supply responsiveness.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Customer Service, and Distribution to embed customer and channel insights into supply plans.
  • Lead resolution of systemic service pain points through structural interventions.

 

Internal Processes

  • Own Integrated Production Planning, Dispatch Planning, and Material Planning across multiple factories and external manufacturers.
  • Govern factory-wise production plans and distribution flows aligned to demand priorities and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure clear decision rights and escalation mechanisms for supply trade-offs.
  • Lead supply planning for a multi-category foods portfolio with: High SKU complexity, Frequent NPDs and seasonal promotions, Diverse shelf-life profiles
  • Optimize planning across multi-node supply networks including plants, co-packers, and depots.
  • Proactively assess capacity, RM, PM, manpower, and logistics constraints.
  • Drive cross-functional action plans for short-term disruptions and medium-term risk mitigation.
  • Institutionalize scenario planning and stress testing for demand/supply volatility.
  • Sponsor and lead enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, including: Inventory optimization & segmentation, Network design and footprint optimization, Long-term capacity and supply strategy, IBP / S&OP maturity enhancements

Innovation and Learning

  • Design and deploy robust supply contingency frameworks to manage volatility, seasonality, disruptions, and demand shocks.
  • Build resilience into planning through dual sourcing, safety stock strategies, and dynamic rebalancing.
  • Build future-ready capabilities in: Advanced planning & analytics, Business partnering, Decision-making under ambiguity
  • Drive adoption of advanced planning systems, analytics, and digital enablers.
  • Benchmark supply planning processes regularly against best-in-class global FMCGs.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and standardized ways of working.

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

  • Qualification: BE / BTECH/Graduate (MBA – Operations preferred)
  • Experience in supply planning in FMCG company

What are the Desirable success factors for the Role?

  • Knowledge of Supply chain planning process & practices
  • High proficiency in data handling, MS-Excel & SAP
  • Prior experience of working on Planning system (like SAP-APO, JDA) preferred
  •  Ability to work well in cross functional teams & effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to take initiatives & drive projects Knowledge of H&S systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and solutioning mindset.
