Job Description

 

 

 

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

 

Financial Outcomes

  • Reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through effective CAPA implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Minimize quality-related losses, rework, rejection, customer claims, and audit non-conformities.
  • Ensure on time launch of new product NPD to support business growth.

Customer Service

  • Customer Complaint Closure Rate (%) within target timelines.
  • Reduction in recurring customer complaints.
  •  Positive customer audit outcomes.
  • Consistent adherence to customer quality and food safety requirements.

Internal Processes

 

  • Drive digitization and process automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
  • Effective maintenance, implementation, and successful completion of certification and surveillance audits for organizational management systems, including FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, as well as additional certifications such as TGA and BRCGS, ensuring no major non-conformities or observations that could impact business continuity.
  • Oversee quality documentation and records management—ensuring SOPs, specifications, quality manuals, formats, and regulatory documents are current, controlled, and audit-ready.
  • Prepare and maintain Quality Control MIS reports covering laboratory performance, non-conformities, customer complaints, trend analysis, and key quality metrics for management review.
  • Analyse trends in quality, food safety incidents, and customer complaints to identify recurring issues; implement effective CAPAs to prevent recurrence.
  • Foster a culture of quality ownership through effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Audit Compliance Score (Internal, External, Certification & Customer Audits).
  • Timely closure of CAPAs and audit observations.
  • Ensure compliance with Halal, Kosher, and Non-GMO standards for the existing and new NPD.
  • Accuracy and effectiveness of SAP quality master data and inspection plans.
  • Documentation compliance and audit readiness.
  • CCP and OPRP verification compliance.

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

 

  • Master’s degree in food technology/ food science/ microbiology/ biotechnology/ chemistry.
  • Industry Experience: 8 to 10 years of core QA/QC experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment, with at least 2–3 years in a team-leading role of size 4 to 6 reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000, BRCGS, ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP, Organic Certification NOP & NPOP, Kosher, Halal, and Non-GMO certification requirements.
  • Expertise in Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, Risk Assessment, and Food Safety Systems.
  • Proficiency in SAP QM Module and digital quality management systems.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent audit management and regulatory compliance capabilities.
  • Project management and continuous improvement (Kaizen/Lean) mindset.
  • Exhibits clear, concise, and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to drive a culture of quality, food safety, and continuous improvement.

What are the Desirable success factors for the Role?

Certifications & Professional Credentials

  • Lead Auditor Certification in FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000.
  •  Advanced HACCP Certification.
  •  Knowledge of IFS Food Standard, TGA, and other global food safety standards.
  •  FoSTaC Advanced Training Certification.

Continuous Improvement & Digitization

  •  Strong project management skills with experience in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in digitization of quality systems, electronic documentation, and process automation.

Strategic & Business Acumen

  •  Ability to drive quality improvement projects resulting in measurable reductions in complaints, wastage, and non-conformities.
  • Experience in developing quality dashboards, MIS reporting, and management review presentations.
