This is a critical role with regard to TCP’s mission of Passionately growing & innovating every day. This role will be a driving force behind the creation and delivery of innovative products for new and existing portfolio of TCPL, specifically for Packaged Foods Categories focused on spices, staples and premium categories for Tata Sampann, Tata Simply Better and emerging new value-added categories.

Job holder will be responsible for developing & delivering the products from concept through to launch in close partnership across functions (e.g. Global R&D function; Marketing; Operations; QARA; Sourcing etc.,) as well as key external partners (e.g. Flavour and Ingredients suppliers).

In addition, the job holder will manage and actively develop team members, wherever required.

Complexity of the role:   This is a critical role regarding TCP ambition, the role must work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to  developing & delivering the products from concept through to launch in close partnership across functions.

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

  •  

    • This role is accountable for the On Time In Full (OTIF) technical delivery of innovations, cost innovations, Business support and Complexity reduction projects across spices, staples and premium categories for Tata Sampann, Tata Simply Better and emerging new value-added categories
    • Define and deliver technical aspects of the projects (including design & deployment of formulation, packaging, processing, consumer validations, product stability & costing, compliance & safety, etc.) of core staples, premium staples and value-added products of these sub categories.
    • Collaborate & guide the innovation work streams and support internal project teams to ensure achievement of expected delivery on assigned projects along with robust technical support and technology transfer.
    • Active partnership with R&D teams across TCPL ecosystem in driving One R&D agenda and effective knowledge management.
    • Drive interaction with regulatory & legal teams to ensure compliance of the product, pack and proposition to local regulatory and company requirements and confirm required documentation in the Specification Management Systems
    • Business partner with marketing team in generating new ideas and populating the innovation funnel.
    • Inspire R&D colleagues and cross-functional teams through insightful and creative product ideas and foresight events so that teams can embed into innovation process
    • Champion continuous improvement of existing product portfolios & product development process
    • Keep up to date with food & drinks trends, competitor development and consumer and customer expectations
    • Ensure clear management of diverse stakeholder groups
    • Support in driving digitalization agenda of R&D
    • The job holder will have to line manage and develop his line reports, wherever applicable

     

    Education Qualification and Experience:

    • Graduation/ Post graduation in food science / Food Technology or other related discipline
    • Proven 10-12 years of experience working within product development / Innovation within FMCG organization
    • A deep knowledge of and passion for product design and new product development
    • A passion for beverages/food, Knowledge expert in spices & staples range of products and understanding of operational implementation
    • An interest in emerging trends and understanding of consumers’ expectations
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail and the ability to clearly communicate technical data cross functionally
    • Proven ability to translate consumer habits and needs into in-market product innovation
    • Must be self-motivated, dependable and have ability to work independently and in a team environment.
