Financial Outcomes

• Ensure the Safe Operation without any H&S issues affecting Business.
• Ensures compliance to legal & other requirements and Updation of plant level legal register, avoiding potential financial penalties.

• Implement and Adhere to EHS & Sustainability Standards

Internal Processes

• Continual development to improve Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) management system to achieve our vision – “Zero Safety Incident” at unit level.
• Ensure EHS risks to the lowest level practicable in collaboration and in alignment with cross functional teams. Set objectives in line with corporate and national guidelines and monitor through the year. Ensure corrective actions implementation for non-conformities.
• Key member of PLT (Plant Leadership Team) to drive EHS initiative and meet 100% EHS compliance.
• Strong focus on process safety management & related compliances including process risk management, regulatory compliance obligations and emergency response programs.
• To prepare and conduct all safety related trainings for the employees across the levels including contract employees.
• Ensure strict adherence to work permits System especially for the Hot work, Height work, Electrical work, Confined space work , LOTO system and plant start-up & shut down.
• To drive safety culture through daily GEMBA walks, safety kaizen, promoting zero harm (UA, UC & NM) reporting, replicating good safety practices and learnings from incidents.
• Monitoring & Inspection of Fire & Safety equipment including Fire water pump, hydrant, hose pipes, fire extinguishers, lift/hoist, Pressure Vessel & other equipment & keep up dated testing reports with regular trial of the same.
• Prepare & Conduct H&S Programs – H&S Time out, Safety campaigns, R&R etc.  at regular intervals.
• Propose & Drive Safety Capital Budget – Initiatives
• Coordinate and Ensure 100% Safety compliance on all Project activities

Innovation and Learning

• Conduct internal audits related to OHSMS (Occupational Health & Safety management system ) and Environment Management System (EMS) and coordinate with the team to ensure closure.
• Participate in the Cross Site Safety Audit.
• Adopt new trends in EHS like digitalization, data analytics, IoT etc .

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

• Qualification: BE / BTECH (Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical With Industrial Safety Diploma RLI/CLI / Masters in industrial safety from a recognised institution ) /  ( B.E / BTECH  Safety Engineering ) or any other equivalent
• Experienced in SHE with 6+ years of relevant experience with manufacturing industries.

• ISO 14001 & 45001 Lead / Internal Audit Certification
• Analytical & People negotiation skills & Good awareness in Statutory requirements
• Computer proficiency – MS office, SAP
• Language: Written and verbal proficiency in Tamil
• Demonstrates SHE leadership in speech, Decisions and actions by walking the talk
