Job Description

 

 

What are the Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas

  • Maintenance Planning and Execution
    Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and smooth plant operations.
  • Cost Optimization
    Implement strategies to reduce maintenance costs, manage vendor contracts, and control spare parts inventory efficiently.
  • Production Support
    Ensure machinery and utilities are maintained to meet production schedules and quality standards, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
  • Compliance and Safety
    Ensure adherence to safety protocols and statutory requirements and maintain readiness for audits and inspections.
  • Team Collaboration
    Work closely with production, quality, and EHS teams to resolve equipment-related issues and deliver high service levels.
  • Performance Monitoring
    Track key maintenance metrics such as MTTR, MTBF, and equipment uptime to drive continuous improvement.
  • Innovation and Capability Building
    Promote new technologies and process improvements, while mentoring technicians and staying updated with industry trends.

  • Optimize maintenance costs by implementing predictive and preventive maintenance strategies that enhance equipment reliability and reduce unplanned interventions.
  • Minimize downtime and breakdown-related losses through timely and efficient maintenance actions that ensure continuous production flow.
  • Manage vendor contracts and spare parts inventory effectively to achieve cost-efficient procurement while maintaining readiness for maintenance needs.
  • Support energy efficiency initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce utility consumption and implementing measures that contribute to overall cost savings.

2. Customer Service

  • Ensure machinery and utilities are consistently maintained to support uninterrupted production schedules and uphold product quality standards.
  • Collaborate proactively with production and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues quickly and effectively, minimizing impact on operations.
  • Maintain high responsiveness to internal customer requirements across production, QA, and EHS functions, ensuring dependable service delivery.
  • Ensure full compliance with customer audits and regulatory inspections by maintaining equipment and utilities in accordance with prescribed standards and documentation.

3. Internal Processes

  • Lead the execution of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and operational continuity.
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand.
  • Assisting Plant Engineer for determining engineering requirements by conducting inspections and analytical tests; analyzing and synthesizing data; maintaining control charts; determining root causes; preparing bid specifications.
  • Prepares engineering reports with coordination of Plant Engineer by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; entering data and generating reports and presentations; performing calculations.
  • Ensure   smooth functioning of ETP, RO plant, Energy consumption and Boiler. Track the consumption records against the operations hours.
  • Meets H&S requirements of Machine and Maintenance staff, periodic monitoring of machine as per H&S Requirements
  • Maintaining FSMS & HACCP systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for equipment history, maintenance schedules, and statutory compliance to support audits and internal reviews.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators such as MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and overall equipment uptime to drive performance improvements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and statutory requirements related to boilers, ETP systems, and electrical installations.
  • Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence of equipment failures.

 

4. Innovation and Learning

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance practices and equipment reliability by fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance automation, energy efficiency, and process optimization to improve plant performance.
  • Train and mentor maintenance technicians and junior engineers to build technical capabilities and ensure knowledge transfer across the team.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and equipment innovations to proactively adapt maintenance strategies and ensure compliance.
