Job Description

 

 

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

Financial Outcomes

  • Cost of Poor Quality and waste reduction: Develop evaluation metrics and tracking cost of poor quality and take proactive measures to reduce wastages and product recalls.
  • Analytical cost: Control analytical cost against the budget.
  • Analyze and approve waste with Cost as a Parameter

Customer Service

  • Customer Interactions: Interactions with customers to meet the various Quality, Food Safety, Regulatory & Compliance requirements which customer seeks from time to time. Monitor the customer complaints and prepare details root cause analysis and mitigation plan.
  • Product Quality Index /Customer satisfaction index: Monitor and improve product quality index and customer satisfaction index by enhancing RFT.
  • Ensuring finished goods meet global statutory & regulation compliances like for USFDA/EEC/BRC/ Japan/ SEA requirements as applicable.

Internal Processes

  • Meet plant key KPIs like CCPMP, GMP, Misc. CPC, Usage variances, % Yield, Process performances
  • Establish objectives, KPI for the quality department, periodically formulate and get approval from top management on food safety policies and programs
  • Establish short term and long-term plan for the department in association with plant & company requirements
  • Implement and maintain Quality Systems and Food Safety management system that are in compliance with various quality and food safety standards and regulations.
  • Establish system and procedures in association with Central/Corporate quality to drive systems, setting-up standards & guidance to implement & improve overall quality of the plant in compliance to Global Group quality requirements
  • Establish Total Quality management system in the plant by effective maintenance of Incoming materials quality compliance, in-process quality checks (IPQC) and Finished product quality compliance.
  • Support NPD activities and aid in providing quality and testing requirements.
  • Adopt and maintain awareness and understanding of quality, food safety, regulatory compliance requirements across the organization and create a culture of quality in the company
  • To handle complaints received from market & trades - Ensure proper documentation, information flow, root cause analysis, CAPA and effectiveness of CAPA.
  • Ensure renewal and certification of FSSC, 9001, USDFA, Organic, Rainforest Alliance, Kosher and Halal
  • Conduct Vendor Quality evaluation, vendor audit, approval and assessment of vendor quality and capability, capacity
  • Prepare SOP, flow chart, establish hazard analysis, identify critical control points (CCP) & its limits, OPRP, PRP. Onsite verification of flow charts, closing of identified gaps, validation and verification process
  • Conduct monthly GMP audits, integrated pest control management process in the plant
  • Exercise document control to ensure that only the updated documents, recipes, SOPs are used in each line and process.
  • Adopt and maintain awareness and understanding of quality, food safety, regulatory compliance requirements in the unit and create a culture of quality

 

Innovation and Learning

  • Actively work with the NPD team for innovations of the new type of products.
  • Generate Competency matrix of workmen and impart training on Quality and Food Safety
  • Adopt and maintain awareness and understanding of quality, food safety, regulatory compliance requirements in the unit and create a culture of quality and Food Safety.

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

  • Master’s / bachelor’s degree in food technology / food Process Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in Quality Management / new product development
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems, HACCP, ISO, Food safety management systems and auditing
  • Experience in Instant Tea Ops, Solubles, Coffee, Tea or Dairy Operations
  • Has good understanding of QA and NPD process
