Job Description

 

 

 

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

 

Financial Outcomes

  • To control the freight expenses within budget limit. Responsibility of managing freight cost including negotiation and finalization of rates with transporters through reverse auction.
  • Ontime submission of Bills & Provisions of entire logistics operations pertaining to plant.
  • Monitor expenses, suggest cost effective alternatives and daily administrative operations.
  • Invoice verification with finance team for price and tax checking before dispatching the trucks.
  • Implement robust processes, Controls on FG, alignment basis planning functions, reconciliation of reports/data etc., develop scope of improvement and ensure exchange of information with proper coordination with all internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective inventory management & monitor inventory shelf life of FG.

 

Customer Service

  • Adhere to dispatch plan as per indent volumes. Responsible for Dispatch Planning to meet desired stock availability levels.
  • Addressal of  Internal Depot complaints and resolutions.
  • Vehicle placement and Delivery follow-up and adherence to TMS Portal.
  • Production Plan Adherence and Strategize planning to improve OTIF % and Availability.
  • Implement & Adhere to Quality standards – FSSAI & FSSC 22000 Requirements & EHS Standards – ISO 45001 & ISO 14001
  • Effective delegation and supervision of all tasks in stipulated time.

 

Internal Processes

  • Coordinating with Central Logistics Team for effective Vehicle placement in terms of dispatch plan shared.
  • To handle dispatches of various products primarily from Sri city location to various CFA of TCPL in India & Export to destination across globe through Mode of Transport: Road, Sea & Air freight.
  • Ontime bills and provision submission to Finance.
  • TAT of FG to be monitored.
  • Work on Internal & External Audit closure compliances.
  • Export Shipping Coordination, Document Control & Schedule Adherence.
  • Coordination with the S&OP team to understand weekly dispatch plans of various products and execute dispatches as per the business requirement.
  • Coordinate with Transporters, Shipping companies, handling agents, surveyors and other relevant stake holders to ensure timely product dispatches. Ensuring timely dispatches through least cost mode of transport option.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly report preparation for senior leadership business review.
  • Getting the SAP order processing done, tracking vehicle placements, rigorous follow ups with transporters to ensure timely placements, resolving material handling related issues e.g. shortage, damage, demurrage, detention etc.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Logistics team for Vendor assessment, selection, negotiation, and developments of transport solutions, Yearly contracting and renewals of contracts basis negotiations.

 

  • Organize for truck placements, coordination with Warehouses for unloading & loading.
  • Responsible for Truck placement compliance, Truck turn arounds from Plant to CFA to achieve lead times.
  • Monitoring transporters performance as per agreed KPI's like lead times, OTIF, TAT, Loadability etc.
  • Overall responsibility of export logistics which comprises of Order receiving & Supply processing, land/sea/air movements, delivery up to required destination, land/sea/air freight controls, inventory controls and shipping processes.
  • Keep being updated on latest EXIM rules and policy changes.
  • Manage Stock & maintain Stock Accuracy of SAP vs Physical & Maintain FIFO & FEFO.
  • Monitor the performance of team members to ensure they are all contributing adequately and accountable on final product produced, its quality, efficiency and safety practices.
  • Demonstrate and troubleshoot dispatch issues by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending actions. Equipped with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ensure inventory and account of sales invoicing & reconciliation.
  • Problem solving at floor by Applying 5S, 6 Sigma Concepts, TPM and drive improvement projects.
  • Monitoring handling of FG stock freshness, reconciliation and GMP.
  • Ensure 100% compliance on MIS and other documents related to Dispatches, Invoices, Inventory & FG reports.
  • Daily SAP Posting and closure activity on Month End basis with accountability to stocks in SAP & Physical.

 

 

Innovation and Learning

  • Ensure Safety, Health, Hygiene, and other Food Safety compliances for the FG Area.
  • Ensure closure of all non–compliances observed during audits within the stipulated time frame.
  • Training of Work force and driving company initiatives at shopfloor level.
  • Adherence to Legal Compliance & Statutory Documents for all Dispatches.
  • Timely & smooth execution of SAP projects while coordinating with the internal and external stakeholders. Ensuring no delay in dispatches for NPD Launch.
  • Improvements in existing systems – Process & Productivity.
