Job Description

 

 

Job Statement/Job Purpose:

  • Heading Freeze Instant Coffee Manufacturing Unit
  • Planning and organizing production schedules for weekly, Monthly & yearly production plan evaluating with proper manpower, Raw materials, Utility and Other resources.
  • Responsible for warehouse operations, inventory management and physical verification of RM, SFG, FG and Packing material.
  • Responsible for Capex planning & Execution on time.
  • Implement Lean concepts to improve cost & Quality
  • Supporting RND for NPD
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Execute Monthly report closure in MIS & ERP System
  • Develop strategies to increase productivity and production.
  • Reviewing the operational practices, identifying the areas of obstruction / quality failures, and implementing the CAPA on system and process changes for qualitative improvement 
  • Identify opportunities for continuous process improvements and develop justifications for capital investment.
  • Work on utilizing packing capacity and efficiency to reduce the job work charges of Bulk, and SKU packing lines
  • Prepare Packaging plan & Dispatch of goods on time as per commitment.
  • Ensure the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Quality, Productivity, Cost, Safety, and  Delivery.
  • Meeting the ABP set by the SLT
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, KAM, SCM, etc to align efforts and achieve organizational objectives.

 

Customer Service

  • Assuring GMP & hygiene of plant & developing food safety approach
  • Ensure equipment hygiene/personnel hygiene/ CIP as per process protocol
  • Work on towards First Time Right and reduction of Non Conformity
  • Responsible to initiate corrective action when there is deviation from the Operational Pre-requisite program
  • Oversee & coordinate assigned QA program in support of internal and external audit and inspection programs.
  • Participate in FSMS & QMS Team meetings.
  • Management Representative for certification audits IFS / BRC / IMS etc
  • Support NPD for product and process launch

Functional key skill in glance

  • Must be an expert in instant coffee manufacturing, capable of directing problem resolution in pre-cleaners, roasters, extraction, evaporation, freeze drying, and associated utilities (boilers, refrigeration units, water and effluent treatment plants).
  • Must be expert in Production management (Planning / execution & stocks control) as well as ability to direct maintenance as well as CAPEX programs in the unit ensuring timely delivery of the product and cost efficiencies of operation.
  • Should know legal requirements for site safety TN factory rules, Factory Act/State rules in case of India), and industrial safety systems, including risk assessment, HIRA, HAZOP, change management, and ISO 14001 compliance.
    Requires expertise in food safety management systems (HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC, BRC) for effective implementation on manufacturing floors.
  • Must be a certified Lean Six Sigma Practitioner with demonstrated DMAIC/Lean projects for cost optimization and quality improvement, preferably as a Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Needs strong knowledge of manufacturing cost levers and budgeting experience, especially in CAPEX and overheads.
    Must have  project management and factory maintenance program experience, including instrumentation and PLC /control systems, ensuring effective execution of maintenance and CAPEX projects

 

 

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

 

Education Level:

  • Engineering /Chemical /Food Technology /other allied subjects

Years of relevant experience:  

  • Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in continuous process industries, 4-5yrs experience in Food production plant (Coffee/tea/other food processing preferred)

 

Key Attributes:

  • Ability for Effective co-ordination with the Sr Management, & delegation among Management staff, Jr Management Staffs and shift-in-charge to produce the required quantity of quality products. Implement & improve the management systems through training of shift-in-charge and training of operators and workers. Ability to achieve personal / SBU KPIs, shall drive team towards key initiatives like (safety, quality, customer, production, cost savings) Follow Safety and TCOC.
